Completion of any one of our Boating Safely Course will qualify the successful applicant the award of a New Jersey Boating License to operate either a Boat or a Personal Water Craft, depending on age. The cost of each course is $45.00.

All Boating Safety Course classes are taught at the United States Coast Guard Training Center in Cape May. For the Saturday classes lunch will be provided.

8 Hour Boating Safety Course - Saturdays 8:30am - 4:30pm 

    Saturday March 6

    Saturday April 17 

    Saturday May 1 & 15 

    Saturdays June 5 & 26

    Saturdays July 10 & 24

    Saturday Aug 14 (Last class of the season)

 

Evening Classes - 8 Hours, 4 per night 6:30 - 10:30 PM.

You must attend both evenings to qualify for license!

    Tuesday & Wednesday  - June 15 & 16

DIRECTIONS TO USCG BASE IN CAPE MAY

Garden State Pkwy South  to end – over the large bridge on Route 109 South into Cape May.

Pass over the steel bridge you are on Lafayette Street to the next intersection on the left, you will see signs directing you to USCG and Beaches with arrows.  Turn left on Sydney Street and left on Washington. Take an immediate right on Texas, bearing right as the signs direct, down Pittsburgh Avenue, past the WAWA,  about ¼ mile to blinking yellow light and take a left on Pennsylvania.  Proceed about 1/2 mile to the Guard Shack, stop, state your name and tell guard you are attending the boating safety class, and present your ID(drivers license).

YOU ARE NOW ON FEDERAL PROPERTY. PLEASE OBSERVE THE POSTED SPEED LIMITS.

Proceed straight ahead on Monro Avenue. Go past two stop signs, do not turn at either. Turn right at sign the for the Tailor shop, 1st street after the 2nd stop sign. Follow this road to the end, it will change from asphalt to dirt. Park along the edge of the grass directly in front of you at the end of the road.

Our building, the Master Chief Petty Officer of the Coast Guard Hall, is on your right. There will someone to direct you to the classroom. 

 Lunch is on us, just be prepared to purchase a soft drink from the machine.
